How we pave
Built from the base up
Here is how a job comes together. With proper care, an asphalt driveway lasts 15 to 25 years.

Out with the old
We remove the existing asphalt and haul it off site.

Check the base
We check the stone base, then place and compact new stone wherever it's needed.

Two layers for lots
Commercial lots get an HL8 base layer and an HL3 top layer.

3″ on every driveway
2″ is the minimum. We lay 3″ of compacted hot asphalt on every residential driveway.

Rolled smooth
Compacted tight and finished clean. You can drive on it in 3 to 5 days, depending on the temperature.

Green Paving Ltd. is a third-generation family-owned paving contractor working in and around the GTA, with over 25 years in the paving industry. We use modern equipment and technology, and treat every customer with old-fashioned respect.
Health & safety. Green Paving is fully insured and bonded. Our WSIB is always up to date, and every crew member wears proper protective equipment and is WHMIS trained.

Good to know
How thick should a driveway be?
On residential driveways 2″ of compacted asphalt is enough. We recommend 3″, and that's what we lay on every residential job.
When can we drive on our new driveway?
Wait at least 3 to 5 days, depending on the temperature. Avoid sharp turns with the car at first so you don't scuff the new surface.
How long does an asphalt driveway last?
With proper care and maintenance, expect 15 to 25 years. Traffic and weather play a part, and regular inspection extends its life a lot.
Do asphalt cracks need fixing right away?
Yes. Left alone, cracks let water in and grow into potholes and, eventually, a failed surface.
Does a new driveway add value to a house?
Yes. A properly installed asphalt driveway adds curb appeal, and buyers like asphalt for its durability in our climate.
